need to schedule ACS, RCPS and VCS school surveys

Event Planning
Data Training in Ainsworth on Jan 24-25
Brad Geise has asked for our agenda
What are our goals for this training?
Program Evaluation?
Jeff will reply to Brad with our workshop request for Jan 24-25 so that he can plan a 2-day agenda
Do we need to ask schools to bring data related to their school improvement goal? Would that be too difficult to have that much diversity in data, for Brad to work through? Testing, demographic, etc.
Patty voiced concern about supporting program goals when we don't have authority over school district program.
Can Jeff contact Brad and get a list of options to choose from? It would be nice to get feedback from the school districts. Here's a link to possible topics he can cover: Topics
Staff Evaluation Discussion - Geraldine
Expectations for APL
ESU 7 Services Rubric - Geraldine
Possibly piloting this rubric
KBR Leadership Academy- Geraldine
Feb. 8, 2017
Any ideas what should be included in that presentation?
Geraldine has completed initial observations with all but a couple staff members. She will start to schedule follow up meetings with staff to go over those observations.
Encouraged using appropriate APL strategies as it applies to individual positions.
Geraldine hasn't received the rubric yet from ESU 7, we will re-visit this item at the next meeting.
Geraldine asks that any ideas anyone may have on ESU related topics/program that could be shared at the Leadership Academy meeting in Feb. be shared with her.
Geraldine shared school district concerns' relating to a need for counseling services in the area. Geraldine shared that many ESUs are addressing this need themselves. There are limited counselors in the ESU 17 area, but many don't have time to address student needs with the adult case load they have. ESU 17 is looking at fulfilling this need for our school districts.
Paraeducator Training
discussion on Fall 2016 program
Fall 2017
any special education staff who are interested in facilitating specific topics are asked to let us know
otherwise, core services will approach staff members as needed to facilitate
Stephanie gave a recap of the first 2 trainings (ACS & VCS)
There was some discussion on what the training could look like, whether it was on a per district basis or 1 time fall training.
Will continue the training for 2017-18 school year. Reach out to Principals at the next admin meeting to see what they feel are training needs for their paras. Look at scheduling in August, right before school starts.
SPED members - Amanda, Geraldine, Scotty, Robyn (pull other people in as needed)
